Bud Stephen Tayman's practice is devoted exclusively to:
- Insolvency-related matters;
- Bankruptcy representation in Chapters 7, 11, and 13 of the United States Bankruptcy Code; and
- Financial workouts outside of bankruptcy.
Mr. Tayman began his legal career in 1985 as a general practitioner with an emphasis on bankruptcy matters. Since 1988, Mr. Tayman has been engaged as a transactional bankruptcy practitioner in all aspects of consumer and commercial bankruptcy cases under Chapters 7, 11, and 13 of the bankruptcy code. Mr. Tayman's practice involves representing debtors, trustees, parties in interest, and creditors including banks, independent motor vehicle lenders, and municipalities in tax matters. Mr. Tayman has participated in bankruptcy cases in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. His experience includes extensive trial litigation and appellate work, including:
- Preference and fraudulent conveyance actions brought in bankruptcy proceedings.
- Motions seeking relief from the automatic stay of Section 362(a) of the bankruptcy code.
- Proceedings to determine the validity, priority, and extent of liens.
- Proceedings objecting to the dischargeability in bankruptcy of specific debts or objecting to the discharge itself.
- Objections to the debtor's claim of exempt property under federal and state law in a bankruptcy case.
- Objections to claims filed in bankruptcy proceedings.
- Applications for the allowance of administrative expenses in bankruptcy proceedings.
- Proceedings to convert or dismiss bankruptcy cases.
- Various proceedings dealing with plan confirmation issues in Chapter 11 and Chapter 13 cases.
